There isn't much that sends fear down our spines like the thought of a clothes moth. If you have seen the damage they can do, well... you know. Fortunately, the first line of defense is a delightful solution--lavender, cedar--or both! These are a lovely alternative to those foul smelling and toxic moth balls.
That said, we *do* recommend something a little stronger for long term storage or for raw fleece. These little sachets are perfect for project bags and boxes, drawers, linen closets-any spot that you are in and out of regularly. We carry them in everything, tuck them away everywhere to protect our yarn, fibers, protects, sweaters and socks. They smell wonderful and we use so many of these that we buy the cedar and lavender by the pound--and the studio always smells divine. People ALWAYS remark on how good it smells! So ... one day recently it dawned on us. Why aren't we offering these to our clients?
This listing is for an 8 ounce bag of lavender. If you would like the sachets, you might check out this listing: https://www.etsy.com/listing/153283074/yarn-fiber-sachets-moth-repellent?
About our botanicals:
Lavender: This is English Lavender, grown in France. It has as a characteristic blue-grey color with a sharp, piny-lavender scent. Latin name: Lavandula angustifolia
Cedar: Shaved cedarwood chips Latin name: Juniperus virginiana
To refresh the fragrance, all you need you need do is squeeze them!
*Packaged in a biodegradable, cellophane bag*
***As much as we would love to *guarantee* that your fiber will be safe forever from moths (*shiver*), we simply cannot. There are far too many variables involved. We can only share our experience, strength and hope--and that is... these help --and create a lovely atmosphere in which to work :) We change our sachets out or add more oil to them approximately every 3-6 months-but we are VIGILANT about providing clean, luxurious product to our clients. Your mileage may vary :)

Frequently Asked Questions
We have a handful of wholesale accounts, but at this time, we are not looking for more. We thank you for your interest :)
Custom and personalized orders
The ability to customize, personalize orders is the number one reason we work mostly on a "made to order" basis. We want you to have everything just as you need/want it! We understand that this makes our shipping times slower, but we hope you will agree that we are worth the wait :)
Does your roving come in one, continuous piece?
Not always. Let us know if this is important, and we will make it happen.
Why is the shipping so high? Can you fix it?
It's a long, convoluted answer having to do with the fact that we offer variations of weight in our batts and other items. We pay the extra shipping on larger batts, but we have no way of setting the shipping lower on the sample sizes, so we have to meet somewhere in the middle --which is often WAY too much if you are ordering a quantity of sample batts.
And yes. We can fix it, just message us. Or.. check out and leave us a note reminding us to refund your excess shipping. Either way, we understand. We hate overpaying for shipping too :D
You forgot my felting needles. Will you send them?
If we forgot them, of course we will :D
But first... take a peek on the side of the foam. 99.99% of the time, they are there, just overlooked.
Why does it take 10-14 days to mail a batt?
We dye a very large proportion (60-75%!!) of our wool, Firestar and Silk. We're really proud of the number of colors we offer-- and we only have plans to do more. We do this because it the work we love to do, it's one of many things that we think make our work worthwhile, special. Additionally, we do not want our batts sitting in inventory, compacting from lack of use. And then... what if you want to customize the batt? We do that too :D
We make our batts to order because we make them for you— and we make a LOT of them, so there is usually a line when you order as well. We think they are worth the wait and hope that you will too. Naturally, if you need something faster, let us know. We work magic, that's what we do :D
