Bright gold Starbright nylon, roving top, Blending, Wet Nuno Needle Felting, Spinning Fiber add in .5 oz, sock yarn vegan fiber, yellow gold

Sorry, this item has sold.

Starbright nylon is a lovely blending fiber with the sheen of one our favorite Merino/Silk rovings. A small amount added to your spinning wool adds strength, making for an ideal sock yarn whilst adding lustre. Adding to your Nuno or wet felting work and it is moved and manipulated much like silk, creating wonderful lines and patterns in the resulting fabric.

Starbright measures 3 denier, an equivalent of 19 microns, or a superfine wool. It has great elasticity and loft. While we predraft this fiber into a ball for shipping and storage, it is really quite... fluffy!

----You're buying a half ounce of hand dyed, semi solid, Hand Dyed Starbright Fiber. These are dyed in small lots at a time and will vary from lot to lot. If the next lot varies substantially, we take new photos :) One half ounce of starbright is roughly the size of a small tangerine or mandarin orange :)

Some of the ways that you can use Starbright:
--Expand your library of color, texture without having to make a large investment in full sized fiber batts and roving
--discover new color combinations! (Seriously.. some of our favorite batts have been inspired by
the process of preparing these little morsels!)
--embellish your needle or wet felting endeavors
--combine them with any of our other kits to expand your color, texture possibilities

*All in a biodegradable, cello bag :D

*We literally shower (Really. Using a rain shower head! :) all our yarns and fibers until the water runs clear. That said, you may *still* see some dye runoff depending on all sorts of things like *your* water, your detergent, body chemistry, and so forth. This is normal and not cause for alarm. :)

*We often ship/store our fiber and wooll products with lavender. Please let us know if your allergies are an issue.

*Our products are photographed in varying lights in an effort to provide as much color info as possible. Please keep in mind that all monitors display color differently.

We have, on average, over 50 rovings and 50 batts to choose from—check us out!

Frequently Asked Questions

Wholesale availability

We have a handful of wholesale accounts, but at this time, we are not looking for more. We thank you for your interest :)

Custom and personalized orders

The ability to customize, personalize orders is the number one reason we work mostly on a "made to order" basis. We want you to have everything just as you need/want it! We understand that this makes our shipping times slower, but we hope you will agree that we are worth the wait :)

Does your roving come in one, continuous piece?

Not always. Let us know if this is important, and we will make it happen.

Why is the shipping so high? Can you fix it?

It's a long, convoluted answer having to do with the fact that we offer variations of weight in our batts and other items. We pay the extra shipping on larger batts, but we have no way of setting the shipping lower on the sample sizes, so we have to meet somewhere in the middle --which is often WAY too much if you are ordering a quantity of sample batts.

And yes. We can fix it, just message us. Or.. check out and leave us a note reminding us to refund your excess shipping. Either way, we understand. We hate overpaying for shipping too :D

You forgot my felting needles. Will you send them?

If we forgot them, of course we will :D

But first... take a peek on the side of the foam. 99.99% of the time, they are there, just overlooked.

Why does it take 10-14 days to mail a batt?

We dye a very large proportion (60-75%!!) of our wool, Firestar and Silk. We're really proud of the number of colors we offer-- and we only have plans to do more. We do this because it the work we love to do, it's one of many things that we think make our work worthwhile, special. Additionally, we do not want our batts sitting in inventory, compacting from lack of use. And then... what if you want to customize the batt? We do that too :D

We make our batts to order because we make them for you— and we make a LOT of them, so there is usually a line when you order as well. We think they are worth the wait and hope that you will too. Naturally, if you need something faster, let us know. We work magic, that's what we do :D

A subtle sparkle that will be lovely in my sock fiber blends!

More beautiful than I had imagined and will work perfectly for the project I plan to use it for. Had a little hiccup in the transaction, but it was handled quickly, professionally and kindly. Very pleased with this seller!
